A-frame Homes

May 4, 2007 by sachinskg

A-frame houses are popular among builders because they are relatively simple to put together.

Such houses do no require complex roofs, joints, draining and loading systems because the steep A-shaped structure lets anything that falls on it slide off anyway.

The one drawback is its lack of space on the upper floor but that is what people expect when they choose such designs.

The structure involves two walls leaning against each other at the apex with an upper story installed by simply fitting a floor halfway up the edifice. This simple design looks like the capital letter A.

A-frame houses are frequent in areas where it snows a lot.
